"The Eye of Nature", 2023 by JANARDAN

Acrylic on plywood with clear resin coating in antique silver gilt frame.

36 x 32 inches (outside frame dimensions)

"The Eye of Nature" is an intuitive study of our interaction and unity with nature.  The eye is a reflection of the viewer as well as the locus of the forces inherent in nature.  The eye - the centre - is pure white.  All the colours of the spectrum project outwards from this becoming infinite forms and colours and the magnificent variety of mother nature.  As well as seeing an eye, and the head of a bird, you can also see the spiral of a seashell.  This is the spiral of growth and the very life-force itself.  The blue could be the sky for the birds, or the water for the shell.  The mosaic tiles create the feeling of the fractal repetitions of the natural world...

Janardan has dedicated most of his life of 81 years to creating abstract art.

His style ranges from fluid, talismanic symbols to pure expressionism and even to ultra-modern graffiti-like graphics.

You will find many organic forms, geometric symmetries and numerology in his work. He refers to the cosmos and cosmic forces, biological systems and mother nature, life and death, the psychology of human experience, the balance of masculine and feminine, the search for enlightenment, the cosmic or spiritual hierarchy and the journey of life on earth.

Janardan's artwork hangs in the collections of many important people around the world from politicians and royalty to hollywood actors and famous musicians and he is one of the few living artists to have sold directly at Bonham's.

Together with John Jacobs Studio he has created one of the largest NFT collections made from individual hand-painted artworks, nearly 2500 NFTs. Many of these NFTs have the physical artwork available so let us know if you find a piece that you like. Click the link below to scroll through the collection:
